The Kroger Cares Program has been discontinued and replaced by Kroger Community Rewards. No longer are special Kroger Cares cards needed. Instead, purchases can be applied to Friends of the Shelter simply by scanning your Kroger Plus Card as you would when normally checking out at Kroger. Friends of the Shelter earns a percent of purchases on food items each quarter.

However, in order for purchases to be applied to Friends of the Shelter for Kroger Community Rewards funds, each person must go on line and register their name and Kroger Cares Card number and then select Friends of the Shelter as their designated charity.

How To Use the Kroger Community Rewards Program:

• First, you must register your name and Kroger Plus card number online at krogercommunityrewards.com. (If you do not yet have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger)
• Click on Sign In/Register
• You will establish your Kroger Rewards Account by entering your zip code, clicking on your favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, after agreeing to the terms and conditions
• You will then get a message to check your email inbox. Click on the link within the body of the email.
• Then, Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
• Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number.
• Update or confirm your information
• Enter Friends of the Shelter as your organization, or select Friends of the Shelter from list and click to confirm.
• To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see Friends of the Shelter on the right side of your information page or under the Community Rewards section. You are now ready to shop!
• REMEMBER, purchases will not count for the dogs until you register your Kroger Plus card(s) using these instructions
• Do you use your phone number at the register? Call 877-576-7587 to get your Kroger Plus card number.
• You must swipe your on-line registered Kroger Plus card or use the phone number that is related to your registered Kroger Plus card for your shopping purchase to count.
• If you are interested in the alternate SCANBAR method of member registration, please call 800-837-4483 and a SCANBAR letter will be mailed to you.
